And we’re back…

After a rather unintended term’s hiatus the Clare Politics site is back and highlights from the great talks we put on in Lent Term will be appearing very shortly. A bit of an explanation for the absence is necessary, back in February a security flaw in Wordpress, our blogging platform, allowed pharmaceutical spammers to gain control of the site and for an hour or so we became a fairly comprehensive catalogue of their um, performance enhancing product range.
With two weeks to the hand in of my final dissertation this couldn’t really have come at a worse time, all I could do was take the site offline and wait until I had the spare time necessary to rebuild the site. As it turns out Cambridge finals are a rather time-consuming business but at long last things should not only be back to normal, but a little faster and a good deal more secure.
In the intervening time Matt, Ed, Owen and myself have appointed a great team to succeed us and run Clare Politics for 08/09. Over the coming months the new committee will no doubt introduce themselves on the blog and begin unveiling the programme of events for the following year.
A final note, on behalf of the outgoing committee I’d like to thank everyone who helped make this such a good year for the society, particularly to our bloggers but also to everyone who came along to our events, asked tough questions and prompted some really enjoyable discussions. Have wonderful summers and do keep reading and commenting.
