Al Gore - an update
Posted by Matt Clifford on November 13th, 2007
I really hate to harp on about Al Gore, but following my previous post, I thought the former VP’s latest move was especially interesting:
The former vice president, documentary film maker, Nobel laureate and Apple board member has taken a position as a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, the venture capital firm that invested early in Google, Netscape and Amazon.com. Mr. Gore will play a high-profile role in the firm’s “clean tech†investment efforts, a move spearheaded by his longtime friend L. John Doerr.
More here and here. It’s worth noting too that this follows Gore’s creation - jointly with a former head of Goldman Sachs’ asset management business - of Generation Investment Management, an investment fund focusing on long-term sustainability.
As the Democratic primary campaigns get nastier, Gore just gets on with it.
