Clare Politics is delighted to announce a new addition to the Michaelmas 2007 programme. In association with the Faculty of History we present Doug Wilder. As former govenor of Virginia he was the first African American to be elected govenor of a U.S. State and remains the only African American to be elected govenor of a southern state. Doug Wilder currently serves as Mayor of Richmond, Virginia — a post to which he was elected by a landslide in 2005.

Doug Wilder will address Clare Politics Society on Monday 12th November at 5pm in the Latimer Room.
