Hello from Liz

Posted by lizdavies on January 18th, 2007

Even though my head was protesting horribly this morning at the thought of doing anything creative today whatsoever, I decided it might be a good idea to at least vaguely introduce myself before forcing my sometimes-witty-but-not-very-often writing upon you. I’m Liz, a first-year SPSer (that fact alone explaining why I have the time to blog!); Scottish by birth but American by political interest and far too many summer camps’ worth of indoctrination. I have a natural tendency towards verboseness and the over-use of parentheses (not helped by the fact ever time I do it I can hear my old English teacher’s voice in my head informing me that it’s “an aside”) and tend to waste a lot of time browsing blogs so it’s nice to now have a legitimate reason to do it. Wonkette probably saved my sanity multiple times last term when the rigours (yes, there are “rigours”) of SPS got too much for me.

And, as a sneak preview, my very first proper post (likely to appear at some point this afternoon) should involve a politician recently described by many esteemed journalists as “dreamy”…

  1. I know what you mean about the parentheses, I have a debilitating addiction to commas.

  2. I don’t think I have ever been more excited in my life than when I got an email just now saying you’d commented on my post. This probably says some worrying things about my character.
